HIKING

Area has a beautiful trail around the east side of the lake.  Perfect for a quiet leisurely stroll, jog or bike ride away from the campgrounds and a great place for scenic and wildlife photography. The trail is about 3.5 miles long and takes 1-3 hours to hike. There are also paved roads between the campgrounds that make for a nice hike too, just be sure to share the road with bicycles and motorists.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

There are several options for biking around Lake Casitas – either around the lake, on the campground road, or in the nearby trails. Sulpher Mountain Road is a nearby trail that is approximately 18 miles. Sulphur Mountain Road is a country road, graded dirt and gravel. It is closed to motor vehicles except for property owners, the Edison Company, and Ventura County vehicles. It's open to bicycles, and horses. This ride is good all year except just after a rainstorm, when it usually is muddy. There is no drinking water available; bring plenty, it can be a hot ride. The views of the mountains to the north and Lake Casitas to the west are exceptional. Road open to local vehicles. On all of the off-road trails, be aware of the "goathead" thorns that can puncture the most rugged tires.

For the more serious road rider, Lake Casitas is the perfect start and end point for HWY 150 road rides to Santa Barbara, Santa Paula and beyond.
